Brayden was supposed to make an appearance on May 23rd at his Mommy's planned c-section, but couldn't wait another day to meet everyone! His big sister Lexi was born very early, so his Mommy and Daddy were happy he waited as long as he did. Brayden got his name after his Mommy and Daddy stumbled upon it on an Irish name website, and instantly knew it was the one for him! His middle name (Lee) comes from his great grandfather, so is very special indeed. He is already so loved, and his family is soaking up every special moment of every day, as time goes by all too quickly!

S and D - I am so happy for you guys, you make such a beautiful family of 4! It was a pleasure to be able to take your maternity photos (see them here), then get to meet sweet baby B just a short time later! Thank you for letting me freeze these little moments in time for your family!

A very special surprise {Emily + Rick}

I had the honor of photographing one of the best kinds of surprises there are...a proposal! Not just any proposal, but a proposal to a sweet friend by her sweet beau, at a romantic cabin by the river, a gentle rain falling, candles and champagne ready... and I got to be there to capture it all as it unfolded! I have never done a project like this before, and it was one of the biggest challenges I've faced in my photography career - the pressure of not ruining the surprise & nailing each shot the 1st time (I think I was just as nervous as Rick!), not to mention the fading light on this rainy evening being tricky, but these images turned out to be some of my all time favorites and full of character. They tell such a beautiful story of love, pure joy, faith in the future, and hope in a lifetime of happiness - the story of Emily and Rick. These two are so adorable together, and I wish them all the joy possible as they start their new journey together.

Awaiting Baby #2 {The A Family}

This session was one I had been really looking forward to doing for a couple of reasons. Number one, I absolutely LOVE the magic of maternity sessions in the evening. They are just so fun and inspiring! Number two, I have known this adorable mama for quite a few years from when I was a teacher, and I was very excited to see her again and meet her sweet family. We lucked out with the sunny weather and had a blast! I don't think they get any cuter than this. I can't wait to meet sweet baby #2 in a few months!

One very chilly morning a few months back, I had the honor of photographing these 3 beauties. They were troopers - 8:45am doesn't come easy for a lot of people, but they toughed it out so we could capture the best light and get the very best results! Who knew that putting two very happy sisters together out in the frosty cold would make them hug and snuggle up in such a cute way?! I'm officially adding that trick to my list.
